By law, Landlords must give two months' notice to terminate the Tenancy and Tenants one month.
At John Roberts & Co we contact both the Landlord and Tenants two months prior to the end of the Tenancy to enquire whether they both parties are happy to renew the lease.
If both parties agree, a memorandum will be drawn up, extending the Tenancy for the agreed length of time. If the Tenants intend to leave we generally begin marketing the property at this point, in order to find new Tenants.
